Senior Day at the Minnesota State Fair Trip

Thursday, August 30th

Join MMFCU for our annual trip to the Minnesota State Fair. We will travel via motor coach to the fairgrounds. We will not be stopping for breakfast, so feel free to bring coffee and a snack. We will unload near Gate 18. Once we arrive at the fair you are free to explore on your own! Members joining us should be physically fit enough to endure a substantial amount of walking even if renting a scooter. 

Two Location for pick up: 

Baxter: Depart from the NE corner of the Wal-Mart parking lot in Baxter at 6:30am (7295 Glory Road S, Baxter)

Little Falls: Depart from the NE corner of the Little Falls Wal-Mart parking lot, at 7:00am (15091 18th St. NE, Little Falls)

We will be leaving the fairgrounds at 3:30pm and will return at approximately 6:00pm to Little Falls and 6:30pm to Baxter. 

Cost for Mid Minnesota members: $35.00 cash or checks made payable to "MMFCU" turned in the morning of departure. 

Pre-paid cost for non-members: $45.00 for non-members. Pre-payment is required to reserve a spot for non-members and is non-refundable. Please pay and sign up at any local branch. 

Call or visit us today to sign up; there are a limited number of seats (165 total). 

 

 

MN Highway Safe Driver Improvement

The Driver Improvement Program (55+) will give participants a better understanding of vehicle and traffic safety, new technology, physical changes,  increased driving risks as we age, changes to laws, and the decisions drivers can make to be safer on our roadways.  

September 25th, 1:00 - 5:00pm,   4-hour refresher course in Aitkin (cost $22*)

September 26th, 9:00am - 5:00pm,  8-hour beginner course in Aitkin (cost $26*) Light lunch will be served.

October 16th, 1:00 - 5:00pm,  4-hour refresher course in Brainerd (cost $22*)

October 17th, 9:00am - 5:00pm,  8-hour beginner course Brainerd (cost $26*) Light lunch will be served.

Please register directly with the Minnesota Safety Center. You can register two ways:

Choose either the 4-hour or the 8-hour classroom course. Read through options to find the course location that is right for you. (Light lunch and/or snacks will be served by MMFCU) 

*Checks can be made out to MNHSRC (Minnesota Highway Safety & Research Center) on the day of the course.

Join the Mid Minnesota Retirement and Investment Services staff as they team up with Andy Pawlitschek, Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and Rick Kreutzfeldt, Estate Attorney, to guide you in planning your estate for the future.

Social Security - Today, Tomorrow & for the Future

Tuesday, October 2nd, 5:30 - 7:00pm in the Brainerd Training Room

Everyone approaching retirement has questions about Social Security. The decisions you make are crucial to your future benefits. Topics include strategies to maximize benefits, spousal benefits, and what to consider before applying for benefits and more.  

 

Identity Theft

Thursday, November 8th, 5:00 - 6:30pm in the Brainerd Training Room

An overview of common identity theft practices, tools for preventing identity theft and specific steps for victims of these kinds of crimes to take in order to minimize damage. Join Chris Tangen, Chief Technology Officer at MMFCU for this informative workshop.
