How to Pay for College Webinar

Join MMFCU's Jill Casper and Financial Aid staff from Minnesota State Colleges and Universities for information and guidance for the FAFSA process, money saving tips, and alternative ways to pay for college. Timely information and resources regarding what forms need to be completed and dates to watch for will also be discussed. Students, as well as parents, are encouraged to attend.
 
This will be a virtual webinar, by Zoom only and anyone can attend without pre-registering.

Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Scholarship (Application deadline: November 30, 2020)

The Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Scholarship Council is now accepting applications for $1,000 scholarships – being awarded to 16 Minnesota credit union members for college. Any member of Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union pursuing a post-secondary education in the fall 2021/spring 2022 OR is a high school senior graduating in 2021 is eligible to apply. Applications are due by November 30, 2020.

 

A few tips and tricks before you begin:
  • Make the essay personal
  • Be creative
  • Answer the question that is asked
  • Keep it to 500 words or less
  • Grammar and spell check, then do it again
 

Visit the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Scholarship Council website to apply online by answering a few questions about your future plans and credit union membership as well as no more than a 500-word essay sharing your personal experiences to the following question: Knowing that we have the power today to change the story of tomorrow, how will you prepare for future financial obstacles? Reflect on your personal and your family’s experiences.
