As we approach July 4th celebrations, the line "summer is half over" creeps back into a lot of the small talk-conversations. And as is generally the case I think to myself, "I haven't been fishing enough this year." While it's just good small talk, it is certainly true that summers just seem to go faster and faster each year. That being said, it's important for us to prioritize the things we truly want to accomplish or fit into our Minnesota summers. The same is true here at MMFCU as we pass the midpoint of 2023. We recently held the Annual Membership meeting. For credit unions this provides an opportunity to engage with our member owners, and it truly defines our cooperative difference. It's also a time for MMFCU to recalibrate and begin assessing the priorities for the next 12-18 months. Time spent on this planning is import-ant, and we make it a priority. In the world of banking and finance it is true that much is changing. And just like Minnesota summers, the pace seems to quicken year after year. Our approach at MMFCU, however, remains consistent. Combine the voice of our members, and their needs, with opportunities across our field of membership to develop a strategy for mutual success. I am excited for the time our management team will spend together in this effort. Come to think of it, I get some of my best ideas when I'm fishing!
