Black Friday is right around the corner.  Is it all it's cracked up to be? Honestly, Black Friday is no longer a single-day event, stretching October through November. Many retailers are already tempting you or giving you sneak peaks to their deals. Then we move into Cyber Monday. So is Black Friday still worth it? Many experts still say that the best deals are found on Black Friday. But the lines are becoming blurred. Here are a few tips when you are looking for holiday or big ticket items which can also help prevent impulse buys:
  • Make a list of what you want to purchase before shopping.
  • Set a budget for your list.
  • Do your research. Compare prices at different retailers to ensure you are getting the best deal; be cautious, the deal may not be worth the hype. Check store websites, as well as instore deals.
  • Before you purchase items, check if the retailer will do price matching or refund the difference should you find a lower price after your purchase. This can reduce fear of you missing out on that item.
Keep in mind if you miss out on a deal, don't fret; there's a strong chance it will come around again. And don't forgot about Small Business Saturday to support your local business community.
