The reality is bad guys are in our rural communities of Minnesota, looking to steal your money and information. With Recent scams:
  • Bad guys will send you emails or text from places you trust. If you aren't expecting it, don't click the link or respond. If you do, you may be providing information that can be used against you.
  • Don't give out personal information unless you've contacted the business or government agency. Con artists can be very convincing: They may ask account related questions, or sound threatening, or sometimes seem too good to be true.
The best thing you can do to prevent being a victim of scams, is to be suspicious and check everything with a source you trust.
