UNION DO WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
WHY? Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some, but not all, sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.
WHAT? The types of personal information we collect and share depend on the products or services you have with us. This information can include:

  • Social Security number and credit scores
  • Account balances and transaction history
  • Credit history and loss history
HOW? All financial companies need to share members’ personal information to run their everyday business. In the section below, we list the reasons financial companies can share their members’ personal information; the reasons Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union chooses to share; and whether you can limit this sharing.

What we do

How does Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union protect my personal information?  

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with Federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

How does Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union collect my personal information? We collect your personal information, for example, when you:

  • Open an account or make a wire transfer
  • Deposit money or apply for a loan
  • Use your credit or debit card

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureau companies.

We may collect information regarding your mobile device such as:

  • device settings
  • unique device identifiers
  • information about your location (you may be asked to grant permission for access to your mobile device’s geolocation data)
  • analytical information that may assist with diagnostics and performance.
Why can’t I limit all sharing? Federal law gives you the right to limit only:

  • Sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness
  • Affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • Sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

What happens when I limit sharing? Your choices will apply to all your accounts.

 

Definitions

Affiliates Companies related by common ownership or control.
They can be financial or nonfinancial companies.

  • Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union does not share with our affiliates.
Nonaffiliates Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial or nonfinancial companies.

  • Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union does not share with nonaffiliates so they can’t market to you.
Joint Marketing A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market products or services to you.

  • Our joint marketing partners include insurance companies, Credit Union National Association (CUNA / TruStage), Preferred Dealer Partners, Allied Solutions, and VISA processors. (mobile data will not be sold or shared for any purpose)


Mobile Devices 

We may collect information regarding your mobile device such as device settings, unique device identifiers, information about your locations, and analytical information that may assist with diagnostics and performance. For your convenience, you may be asked to grant permission for access to your mobile device’s geolocation data. This information may be collected when you use certain services that are dependent on your mobile device’s location (such as the location of an ATM or in store transactions).

Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union collects images of checks on our mobile and desktop application to enable you to deposit funds remotely.  We only use the images to process deposits and display the image in your transaction history.  We do not share these images.

Images in our mobile application are uploaded at the users discretion for purposes of personalization and only used by the end user.

 

Social Media

MMFCU welcomes your participation on our social media pages. All comments will be reviewed after they are posted and we reserve the right to remove any postings, including but not limited to:

Offensive language: Comments that include obscenities, ethnic slurs, personal insults or language that maybe considered inflammatory, harassing or offensive will be removed.

Personal attacks: If you have a complaint or concern, please contact us at MemberRelations@mmfcu.org Please refrain from posting personal attacks or being disrespectful of others. Malicious postings will be deleted.

Illegal material: Federal, state and local laws and regulations that govern use of copyrights, trademarks, harassment and defamation, etc., will be followed.

Spam: Comments focused on selling a product or service, or for the purpose of driving traffic to a non-affiliated website for personal, political, or monetary gain will be removed.

Private or confidential information: DO NOT provide account details or other personal information. If you need immediate service, please contact the credit union directly.

Comments accepted in plain text only (no HTML or URL formats).

Posts containing photos will not be accepted unless specifically requested by an authorized representative of MMFCU for a contest or other business related purpose. In these instances, pictures will be reviewed and will be deleted if deemed inappropriate.

MMFCU may post photographs taken at Credit Union sponsored and/or local events. It is our policy not to “tag” individuals in photos unless consent has been given. To request an image be removed from the page, please send a message to the Credit Union detailing your request and including your name, contact information with phone number, the title of the image or description of the image, and the reason for the request.

Text Message (account-related messages only)

By providing us with your mobile number and opting-in, you give Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union permission to send you account-related text messages, like payment reminders and notifications in conjunction with the services you have requested.

  • Number of messages will vary by account.
  • By providing us with your mobile number and opting-in, you agree you have ownership rights or permission to use the number given to us.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • To opt-out, text STOP to any text message we send you. An opt-out confirmation message will be sent back to you.
  • To request support, text HELP to any text message we send you or email us at memberrelations@mmfcu.org.
  • If your handset does not support MMS, any MMS messages sent may be delivered as SMS messages.
  • Wireless carriers are not liable for undelivered or delayed messages.
  • No mobile information will be shared with our third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
